My name is Paula Walshe.  I work as an ECEC trainer in the further education and training sector delivering professional  training for Early Childhood Education and Care educators.  I am also a freelance writer and FET placement assessor.

My particular areas of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Quality and professionalisation in ECEC.

  • Digital technology in the ECEC curriculum.

  • Communities of practice in ECEC.

  • Contemporary research in ECEC.

I currently hold a BA (Hons) in Early Childhood Education and have almost completed my studies for an MA in Leadership for Early Childhood Education.

In 2022, myself and a colleague set up a community of practice Twitter page and podcast to support the sharing of ideas and the development of quality in the sector called ECE Quality Ireland - check it out here.

As a trainer I develop and teach ECEC courses with www.forustraining.ie.

I also work as a placement assessor for students who are engaging in a professional diploma in further education with Marino Institute of Education www.mie.ie.

In addition, I am a freelance writer focussing on various topics related to professional ECEC.
